My Friends - A Poem

I love you, You are my friend
But you haven't the time for hearts to mend
Besides, my story would break your heart
& I am not even ready for talking to start
I stay busy & so do all of you
There is no doubt in my mind that your friendship is true
I'm in your prayers & on your mind
You're still able to live like there is plenty of time
Besides, you're a mother and a wife
& there is the job that takes over your life
One day, I will pass by
I will sound good & say I am fine
It will actually be somewhat true
Because fine is not great but it will satisfy you
You will tell me you have been meaning to call
But it won't matter much at all
Because I love you, You are my friend
But we really haven't the time for hearts to mend
& it really makes no difference anyway
Because I am not ready to speak either way.

Thank you for reading and commenting Phoebe. It is really hard to be the friend of someone who is broken. They want me to go to them with what I need and I do not know what to need. They feel guilty for being busy, but I am not ready anyway. I guess its my way of saying it is ok.
Sometimes, we just need to be alone to heal. Being with your daughter is a full time need and you both need time to heal. Prayers are with you always and Jesus is right there when you need to talk. He will never tell.
I don't mind people around but it takes energy and I am very tired right now. Poor Jesus. I talk his ear off. There is no comfort but the words are out there either written or oral. In the beginning, people were a welcome break. Now there are no breaks.
Are you going through depression? That is frequent among people who have had a loved one die and the tiredness, feeling of no comfort are signs. You might want to consider talking to your Dr. about this. There are medicines that can help you get back on track. You don't have to drug yourself out in order to get some relief. I take pills for depression as do many, there is no shame in it, especially in these times.
Thank you for the recommendation Becky. I am not up to that yet. I see depression as stifling all parts of life. My current frustration is stemming from a specific source. Some battles are harder than others.

MOVIEMASTERS- Thank you for the comment. It is sad, you are right, but it is also life today. I figure if I say it out loud, maybe perspective will come one day.
