I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel
I focused on the pain
The only thing thats real
This song spins in my head
It's meaning pierces thru
I'm struggling with your death
I wish it weren't true
There's no needle in my arm
I feel distant and far
Nothing pierces thru my chest
Still I wear the scar
How do I go on
Without your embrace
I try to remain strong
I try to keep the faith
In searching for myself
I only see your face
I keep on slipping back
Into this dark and lonely place
They call me widow now
How can this be?
I still think you'll come home
I still think we'll be free
But you are greater now
Than I'm allowed to be
The Grief still beats me down
The tears don't let me see
Who will I become?
Where will this lead?
Will I make it thru?
How long will my heart bleed?
I can't rest at all
Are you here with me?
I am so confused

this is a very emotional poem. i can see you crying as you wrote it. I never lost a lover due to death yet but i have lost many to other reasons. been hurt many times. and it is the worst pain in the world. That song has related to how I've felt many times. but we have to stay strong and let our own light shine!
Hi Nikki - wow 6 weeks ago. I am sorry I didn't respond sooner. I have been loosing a few battles here and there. I think those losses and heartbreaks along the way are the closest thing to training we get for an event such as this and I am so sorry to report that it is inadequate training. I have never had anything that can come close to preparing myself for this. The worse part is that I know what would be worse and it has infused in me such a terrible fear that I am only just learning how to walk forward with it.
I am not strong, but the light still shines. Thank you Nikki.
